Overview
Kayaking is a fantastic and distinctive way to explore Costa Rica’s natural splendor peacefully and privately. It offers an opportunity to spot some of the shyer wildlife, and bird enthusiasts would be thrilled to get up close and personal with wading birds. However, kayaking is not wheelchair accessible and is not recommended for travelers with back problems, pregnant travelers, heart problems, disabilities, or other severe medical conditions. Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level.
MANGROVE TOUR
Immerse yourself in the wildlife ecosystem of the Terraba mangroves, the most extensive wetlands in Costa Rica, located on the remote South Pacific Coast. Experience one of the most essential mangrove ecosystems in Costa Rica on this enjoyable kayaking tour. Just offshore from the popular Terraba Mangroves, you will paddle peacefully in the shade while your naturalist guide shares insights about the area’s biodiversity.
Tour timings depend on the tides; we will contact you after receiving your booking inquiry to confirm. All kayaking equipment is provided, and you will also enjoy fruit and refreshments during the tour. You can start your kayak tour in the Osa region from Coronado, Sierpe, or Dominical.
You can observe five beautiful mangrove tree species, flowers, and fruits. The area is home to various birds, including herons, hawks, ospreys, falcons, kingfishers, and shorebirds. You may also encounter crabs, reptiles, insects, and mammals like monkeys, sloths, and raccoons. Watch for crocodiles, iguanas, caimans, scarlet macaws, sea turtles, and sharks along these waterways.
OCEAN TOUR
The tour will begin at Marino Ballena National Park. After paddling for approximately 30 minutes, you will be able to witness the coastal natural beauty and spot some unique bird species, such as brown boobies and pelicans.
While snorkeling, you can explore the incredible marine life beneath the sea surface. After some kayaking, you will be offered an aperitif at Playa Arco. You can enjoy swimming in the waterfall and stroll around the primary forest to observe animals such as monkeys and birds.
