Una excursión inolvidable a la isla del Caño
I had the opportunity to take a tour to Caño Island. Since I was a little kid, I have loved swimming in the ocean and looking out for all the sea creatures. When I heard about the biological reserve of Caño Island, I knew I had to visit.
La excursión comenzó alrededor de las 7:00 a. m. Mis amigos y yo fuimos a la agencia para reunirnos con el resto del grupo y recoger nuestros chalecos salvavidas y el equipo de esnórquel. Unos 30 minutos más tarde, todos estábamos listos y nos dirigimos a la playa de Uvita, donde nuestro capitán nos esperaba en el barco que usaríamos ese día.
El camino hacia la isla de Caño fue precioso; incluso vimos algunos delfines. Hicimos una breve parada para sacar algunas fotos y disfrutar de estos animales.
After around an hour, we arrived at Caño Island. We put on the snorkeling equipment and jumped into the crystal-clear water. When I looked down, it felt like a dream. The corals on the ground, and many different types of fish are swimming around them. Seeing all these colorful fish living around the beautiful corals was magical.
We spent around an hour snorkeling, and we even got to see turtles. Then we returned to the boat, where the crew gave us water, fresh pineapple, and watermelon. We continued the trip to a different spot around the island and jumped back into the water.
We were lucky enough to see a shark and a ray swimming alongside the colorful fish this time.
The time flew by, and after around another hour, we had to go back onto the boat. Now it was time for lunch on the island. We ate our lunch on the beach before heading out on a short trail that ended at a beautiful viewpoint.
I would suggest everybody do the little hike up there. The view was incredible. The green island with the gorgeous blue sea…you will feel like you are on a different planet.
De vuelta en la playa, nos relajamos un rato antes de regresar al barco. Con todos esos nuevos recuerdos y el viaje de vuelta a la playa de Uvita, todos estábamos cansados. Así que, cuando llegamos, nos dedicamos a descansar el resto del día en la playa y nos dábamos un chapuzón en el mar cuando necesitábamos refrescarnos. Para terminar el día, contemplamos la puesta de sol y recordamos todos los nuevos recuerdos que habíamos creado en ese hermoso día.
Aunque acabamos agotados tras esta aventura, fue un día que nunca olvidaremos.
